Mount Meru is a volcanic mountain in northern Tanzania, located in Arusha National Park. It rises to 4,566 meters, making it the second-highest mountain in the country after Mount Kilimanjaro. The mountain is a stratovolcano with a large crater formed by past eruptions, the last occurring in 1910. Climbers use the Momella Route, which typically takes 3–4 days. Mount Meru is known for its wildlife, scenic landscapes, and importance to tourism and education.
