Begin your Mount Meru trekking adventure with a warm welcome at your hotel in Arusha.
First, you meet your expert mountain guides for a clear pre-tour briefing.
Afterward, you transfer to Momella Gate, the official entrance to Arusha National Park.
From here, your ascent begins along gentle trails through lush montane forest.
Meanwhile, birdsong and fresh mountain air surround you throughout the hike.
Over the next four days, you pass through Meru’s diverse natural ecosystems.
Additionally, an armed ranger escorts the trek for safety and protection.
Because of this, wildlife encounters are often possible along the route.
For example, trekkers may see buffalo, giraffes, zebras, and antelope nearby.
As you climb higher, forest scenery slowly gives way to open moorland.
Soon, dramatic volcanic ridges reveal wide views of the Ash Cone.
At the same time, Meru’s crater walls rise sharply around the trail.
Eventually, summit day begins early before sunrise.
Then, you climb toward Socialist Peak at 4,566 meters.
At sunrise, Kilimanjaro appears clearly on the horizon.
